Sorry I got behind on keeping this up to date this week. Here is what we did (I think...)
Oct 9 - Spreadsheets we can now use cell addresses to create formulas. Some of you even using the function button to add rows and columns of cells together.
Oct 8 - More linking of our websites. Dreamweaver allows us to 'see' a bit more how the site will look as we create it but we can still use html. We practiced grouping items together. Make sure to include this skill on your menu.
Oct 7 - Using the word processing software to create a menu. Show off your skills in inserting & formatting images, using different fonts, tables and presenting information creatively. Hopefully done by the end of the week?
Oct 6 - History of the internet, e-mail components and starting your business letter to me assignment. We inserted rollover images into our web pages. Now we can link to internal and external pages.
Oct 5 - Automatic bullets & numbering in the word processing software along with parts of the business letter. We also looked at the spreadsheet software in Excel and Google Sheets.
Sept 24 - Block A Terry Fox challenge. Get the steps your time your way. Keep track of how many steps you get each day. Record the steps using the link from the Google classroom. We completed the 1st part of the test review using the cooking database.
- Block B - continue adding to your database assignment. This is due end of day tomorrow.
- Block C - We did the 2nd part of the test review. Queries, Reports, etc.
- Block D - parts of business letters and finishing Wearable Technology from yesterday.
Test tomorrow: Topics include Word: short cut keys
Databases: Terms Field, Record, Primary key
- filter criteria, sorting
- creating queries, reports & reports on queries. Similar to review we did using
the 'friends database'
Sept 23 - Block A - Finish #3 on short cut keys from the Word vs Google docs activity you started yesterday. Try the quiz matching link when finished.
Block B - Creating Queries (permanent filters, using the Query Wizard & remember a criteria)
Block C - Beginning your own database assignment (due Friday) By end of the day you should have your fields set up and at least 5 records entered into the database.
Block D - Wearable Tech task questions. Check the Google classroom under society and computer issues. Complete to #3 today.
Sept 22 - Great work filtering information in your database & using the sort feature. We created reports of our database about us and your Brownie List database. Tomorrow we will do Queries tomorrow (really permanent filters). Complete the Word vs Google Doc item from the Google classroom (up to #3 if you were in class).
Sept 21 - Today we review making a database using MS Access. We created an instruction page using MS Word to how to create a new database. Great work as we screen shot images, formatted them with arrows & grouping it all together! You had an awesome day. By end of day you should have to Step 8 on the database (we will filter tomorrow). Type out the paragraph on the Ornamental font, we will use Wingdings tomorrow.
Sept 11 - Check over any worksheets to fix/finish any missing items.
We will do a bit more review in the morning to prepare for the quiz after lunch.
We added to the Database about the class, adding new fields and records. We even started filtering & sorting.
Check the Google Classroom for the fonts practice if you were away. You can start typing the lines in the box in
Google docs and then do the formatting changes to each line as listed below.

Sept 10 - Microprocessors is the last Journey Inside worksheet to do before the quiz/test tomorrow.
Check the easybib.com website to help you create your bibliography page for the ergonomic items you found
for your Ergonomics Assignment. Check your descriptions include which body part is being protected and how
the item is protecting it.
We also added to the database about us.
See how you do with the crossword review. The word search has other terms to check over as well.

Sept 9 - Today we will be continuing through the Journey Inside website - Checking out Digital Information
We will also be Introducing Databases and the Ergonomics Assignment.
Friday we will be having our 1st test/quiz on the parts of the computer. We will start review together so don't
stress about it. If you are in class following along and listening you will be familiar with the topics.
Sept 8 - Welcome to TLSS! Hopefully you had a great day. The butterflies in my stomach are much better now then they
were yesterday. Today we did a number of things, I hope you weren't overwhelmed. There are just so many
things we can learn about and sometimes I forget to take them one at a time.
Items we did cover (and almost everyone complete) include:
1. Editing the slide about you. Skills included adding an image, formatting borders and adding transitions
2. Learning about the 4 main components of a computer and other important terms. There were 2 files in the
Google classroom for you to fill in. Make sure to add examples where listed.
3. Ergonomic terminology and how to stay safe at your work station. Complete the worksheet using the pdf
provided in the Google classroom.
